Playquip Leisure is able to supply and install a wide range of safer surfacing to suit all site scenarios.
As a general principle there are three main types of protective surfacing for play areas:
Natural Grass- A good, all-purpose surface, but with little wear resistance or impact absorbency in dry conditions.
Loose-fill materials- These include sand, wood products and pea shingle. They have good impact absorbency but disperse and break-down. They are not suitable for moving equipment. Easy to lay.
Synthetic surfaces
There are four main types:
Rubber grass matting– is a rubber safety mat manufactured from recycled rubber. The mat is mainly used on grass
Rubber Tiles– Recycled SBR rubber play tiles available with ramps and corners. The very long life span of our tiles makes them well worth your investment.
Wet-pour – EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) Rubber Granules efficient, long-lasting. Black Recycled EPDM rubber granules or coloured EPDM granules. These are available in a wide range of colours and offer limitless scope for design to incorporate colour into imaginative schemes for playgrounds, pathways and surface applications.
Bonded Mulch – Available in black and colour coated rubber shreds for both loose fill and in-situ bound rubber mulch surfaces. Simple to Install- Does not necessarily require an engineered base. Low Maintenance- Uses one of the most intractable wastes known to man.
